~About Ms. Schaaf~
I recently graduated with my B.S. in Mathematics Education from Loyola University in Chicago. I am endorsed in mathematics and ELL and certified to teach K-8 in IL and MI. Growing up, I attended Birmingham Public Schools and am so excited to be back starting my teaching career in the area I will always call home!
My family is one of the most important parts of my life. I have two sisters and one brother who are triplets and 24 years old. Although the four of us attended four different universities in four different states, I am so happy to say that three of us are back in Michigan and my sister is working out in Washington D.C.
On the weekends, I love to spend time up at my Lake House in Northern Michigan or at the Detroit Yacht Club. I love exploring the different areas of this beautiful state and hope to continue to do so!
5 Facts About Ms. Schaaf
1. I don't eat the charms in lucky charms. I take out all the marshmallows and only eat the cereal.
2. I lived in England for four years when I was 5 and it was the first formal schooling I had.
3. I went to Disney World for the first time last January and got stuck on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and had to climb out of the boat onto the set to get off of the ride.
4. My favorite vacation of all time was to Hawaii. I went for my high school senior year spring break and it is one of the only places that after 10 days, I truly didn't want to leave. It is the place I want to go back to the most!
5. I studied abroad in Rome during college. I went the whole 5 weeks without speaking any Italian. While I was there, I travelled to Budapest, Switzerland, Milan, and a small island called Ischcia. One of my favorite moments was being 5 feet away from the Pope!
